Legionella is a bacterium named Legionella pneumophila which causes Legionnaires' disease, a lung infection (pneumonia). In the UK, it is a legal requirement to have a Legionella risk assessment of all cold and hot water systems.

 

A Legionella risk assessment is the first step towards compliance with the Health and Safety Executives Legionella approved code of practice and guidance document, ACoP L8.
